“Doctor Mad Science” Autistic Boy Rocks YouTube™!

Mar 7, 2013 12:00 AM

Nothing is more important to you than your kid’s wellbeing when you’re a parent. Parenting in the best of circumstances is often an incredible challenge and stretch for many people, but when you throw in the factor of learning disabilities or something like autism, the usual can quickly become seemingly impossible. Many families today can relate to the added complications of learning disabilities and difficulties that kids are facing now.

Equally important is the social factor and helping kids learn to interact with others in an acceptable and understood manner. Often this can be a huge hurdle, but finding activities that are interesting for your child yet not too over the top is a delicate balance that really requires the sixth sense of parents who ultimately know their child the best. The key in those situations can often be finding resources, but also finding ways to allow your child to explore and express him/herself in a way that makes sense to them. More and more often we hear amazing stories about kids and people who don’t fit what is considered normal. Kids who could have fallen through the cracks in years back are today excelling and often exceeding their peers in all kinds of advancements.

Because science topics are so incredibly diverse, it brings a very tangible medium for kids with communication challenges and other challenges to bridge the gap commonly faced. If you are interested in checking out science with your kids, consider Mad Science Toronto for some awesome, safe, and fun activities for kids in Toronto. We have a variety of summer camps, in-school programs, and free events that are happening in the Toronto area.

If you are a parent working alongside your child right now who is dealing with some of these challenges, be sure to check out this incredible young man called “Doctor Mad Science” who, alongside his equally awesome babysitter, is going viral on YouTube with his “Doctor Mad Science Experiments.”
