Happy Customers

Here's what everyone has to say about our Mad Science visits!

I am more than impressed. I may even have been more excited than my kids when I saw the camp materials delivered to me packed with interesting materials. Their camp materials and the program was very well organized. The activities were super fun, and the 'professors' were just amazingly energetic and encouraging! I love how they gave kids the chance to interact with others.

Karen was fabulous and was able to adjust quickly when there was an issue with the lighter for the fire portion of the workshop, keeping the children engaged and interested as we fixed the issue. Would be more than happy to have her present to us again in the future!

Roden Community Child Care

I just wanted to thank you for the session. The children LOVED this experience, the presenter was beyond what we expected! He was very interactive and funny, had all the children laughing. The children were engaged and he had their full attention. This is what we LOVE about Mad Science. We are extremely happy with how this morning went!

FAQ

What kind of equipment do I need to host a workshop and/or show?

Our Mad Scientist will require a 6-8’ table for their equipment, access to an electrical outlet and access to a sink before and after the presentation.

+

What space is appropriate for a workshop and/or show?

For a workshop, we require enough room for the children to sit in a semi-circle on the floor. Our shows can be done in gyms, auditoriums, large rooms or open spaces where kids have enough space to comfortably sit. There should be about 5 feet between the Mad Scientist and the first row of children for a show.

+

What time will the Mad Scientist arrive?

Our instructors will arrive 15 minutes ahead of time for a workshop and 30 minutes ahead of time for a show.

+

Does my staff need to stay in the room?

We encourage daycare or library staff to stay and enjoy the workshop or show while monitoring children’s behaviour.

+

Do Mad Science instructors have a Vulnerable Sector Police Check?

All Mad Science instructors have a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.

+

Are workshops messy?

Our workshops are mess free. Spill trays and paper towel will be provided to children for experiments, however, if you are concerned about spills, you can always put down an old sheet or tarp to protect your floor.

+

Do the students take something home from the workshop?

One take-home activity is part of every workshop. The activity is built during the workshop and relates to one of the topics of discussion. There are no take-home activities for shows.

+

When and how do we pay for our presentation?

Please have payment ready after the presentation is over. We accept cash or cheque (made out to Mad Science of Toronto). We also accept credit card payments over the phone and email transfers which can be arranged before your presentation. Invoices will be emailed to you at least one week before your event.
