At Mad Science, we believe learning should be fun, hands-on, & unforgettable! Our camps are designed for children ages 4-12 & combine exciting science experiments, interactive projects & creative problem-solving that spark curiosity & imagination.
Our camps run year-round, with programs available during Summer, Winter Break & March Break. With a balance of learning & fun, your child will come home excited to share their discoveries everyday.

2025/2026 - Camp Descriptions

Flight Academy
(6-12yrs)
Available Winter 2025
Campers soar through a week of flight and space adventures! From paper airplanes to stomp rockets, they explore aerodynamics, motion, and engineering by building kites, hovercrafts, parachutes, and wind tunnel simulators. Junior Aviators also study celestial navigation, and launch their own rockets for an epic finale!

Science Sleuths
(4-6yrs) and (6-12yrs)
March Break & Summer
An awesome week of sleuthing, investigation, and discovery awaits! Campers crack secret codes, track animals, and uncover nature’s hidden clues. Brain Goo and electroplating thrill junior chemists, while a stereoscopic viewer brings planets to life in 3D. With Mad Science as their guide, children transform into detectives, inventors, and junior astronomers!

Science Adventures
(4-6yrs) and (6-12yrs)
March Break & Summer
Campers step into the role of scientists as they solve crimes, explore the human body & uncover the secrets of DNA. From touring Cell City to investigating the Organ Trail, they learn how bodies function, experiment with balance, gravity & the sweet spot in sports, design helmets to protect Eggbert in the safe egg challenge, and dive into hands-on chemistry with rainbows in test tubes.

March Break & Summer
Think it, build it, test it! Children take on a series of creative challenges using basic materials, simple machines, and their own ingenuity. They’ll build catapults and forts, construct working light sticks to take home, and assemble circuits with batteries and bulbs! While Thomas Edison said “invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration|, this camp is 100% FUN!

Rocket Camp
(6-12yrs)
Summer 2026
Blast off into an action-packed week all about rockets! Campers explore the physics of flight, parts of a rocket, and the thrill of launches. Each day they join a new crew, prepare for launch, send rockets skyward, track altitudes, and build and launch a variety of rockets; experiencing the excitement of real rocket science hands-on!

Jr. Science Academy

Summer 2026
Kindergarten campers embark on a thrilling journey of hands-on scientific discoveries! They’ll explore dinosaurs, bubbling potions, erupting volcanoes, ooey-gooey slime, space, and more. Each day is packed with exciting experiments and demonstrations, and campers get to create fun take-home activities to show off what they’ve learned.

Schoolhouse Chess
(6-12yrs)
Summer 2026
Campers learn chess rules, strategies, and tactics while game pieces come to life. Play on our giant chess set and take home a magnetic set. Each day also includes hands-on science experiments, with exciting take-home projects like rockets, stunt planes, space shuttles, race cars, silly putty, superballs, and more!

Summer 2026
Travel the World Through Art
Campers embark on an around-the-world cultural journey, exploring far-off places; from the Americas to Polynesia, cities to countryside. They experiment with Crayola® products while trying art techniques inspired by local artists. Each week, children create take-home masterpieces like drums, masks, canvases, prints, buses & more!

Crayola®: World of Design
(6-12yrs)
Summer 2026
Design Careers & Design Thinking
Children journey to the farthest reaches of their imagination, exploring the ocean, Mars, product design, and more! They experiment with Crayola® products and art techniques such as sculpting, collage, pop-ups, and mixed media. Campers also discover exciting design careers, including graphic, urban, universal, and product design.

FAQ
Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?
Yes, in fact, we encourage it. Each program is completely different, so your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities!
+Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?
Mad Science instructors tend to be college/university students pursing an education or science degree, former/retired teachers, or teachers on summer break. All of our instructors have experience working with large groups of elementary-aged children and have undergone an extensive background check.
+What is the instructor to camper ratio?
The instructor to camper ratio is at least 1 instructor to 10 campers.
+What should my child bring to camp?
All campers should bring: a nut-free easy to eat lunch and multiple nut-free snacks (lunch is not provided); Epi-pen (if applicable); sun hat and sunglasses; sunscreen; closed-toed shoes (for lab safety). Please do NOT send electronics with your child.
+Will my child be spending time outside?
Our programs have a combination of indoor and outdoor activities. In addition, campers will have the opportunity for structured free time outside where appropriate and safe to do so. We follow all weather related guidelines.
